1. Is this a tutoring service?
No, we assist students by providing them with a personalized plan that position's them to achieve academic success in college.
2. Does The College Informant guarantee I will graduate early and/or with multiple degrees?
Graduating early with multiple degrees or certifications is up to the student and their motivation to accomplish this goal. We provide each student with the essential tools to do so, however, they are at their own discretion when using them.
3. Who is the Excellence Program best for?
The Excellence Program is best for individuals who want to save hundreds to thousands of dollars in college expenses and begin graduate school or enter the workforce sooner.
4. What if I am not a great student?
Our goal is to provide each student with the best plan to build their academic self-confidence so they realize that they are capable of undertaking college level material. Every student is different and will need to approach his or her college planning process differently. We are skilled at helping students put a plan into place that can help them achieve their academic and professional goals.
5. When is the best time to start working with The College Informant?
For the Excellence Program, we can usually be of assistance at any time throughout college, but the best time to begin is during the student's senior year.
6. Is The College Informant a subsidiary of a particular college, university, or agency?
No. As a result, our priority is the interests of the student and/or their family.
7. Where and how does The College Informant provide its service?
The service is done entirely over the internet, primarily through email. Correspondence is also made through phone and mail. After signing-up, the student will receive an email with the steps to begin their program.
8. What happens if I have an important question about my program?
We can be reached by e-mail, phone, or mail.
9. In high school and/or college my student has a counselor. Why do we need the services of The College Informant?
Data from the U.S. Department of Education reports the national student-to-counselor ratio is 488:1. The NACAC's 2006 State of College Admission Report states that public school counselors spend 25% of their time on college counseling while private school counselors spend 58% of their time. Our services compliment the role of each student's high school or college counselor. We expand beyond the foundation they have set. We want to save each student time and hundreds to thousands of dollars by giving them the essential,personalized tools to achieve academic success in college.
10. Do I need to tell colleges or my counselor that I am working with The College Informant?
No. We are working on the student's behalf. Students are not obligated to inform anyone that they are working with us.
11. Do you have a refund policy?
If for any reason after your payment and prior to receipt of our services you wish to cancel, you will receive a full refund. Refund request must be made within 5 days of payment. There is no refund once services begins.
12. Do you have a payment plan?
Yes. A 12-month payment plan is available. There is a 6% service fee charged.
- For the Excellence Program I: Total=$848 (6% service fee of $48). Payment of $70.67 per month for 12-months.
- For the Excellence Program II: Total=$3,180 (6% service fee of 180). Payment of $265 per month for 12-months.
13. What are The College Informant's prices based on?
We encourage individuals and families to realize that college is a major investment. Prices are based on the fact that we can help you significantly save on college costs.
